The sun is shining through the window right now the way it shone through the trees that morning. The birds are chirping and the squirrels and chipmunks are frolicking the way only squirrels and chipmunks know how to do. I’m listening to the dreamiest folk revival station looking at our wedding pictures for the umpteenth time and having the hardest time deciding which to choose. How can I condense the magic of that day into a picture?
There’s that one of us slow dancing in the quad to a song only we could hear, and the one of us standing under the chuppah expressing our eternal love and devotion to each other. There’s that one of you looking dapper as all get out, and the one of my mom’s face right after we took tequila shots (go mom go!). There are the ones of our parents sharing the sweetest words of love and advice I’ve ever heard, and the one where your ring wouldn’t quite fit over your knuckle. I love the one in the vine tunnel during our first look, and the one that captures the exact moment when my dad and I both started crying walking down the aisle. I loved each and every picture taken at all of our favorite secret spots, and every tear, smile and endless kiss we shared.
In a week and a half we will be married for 2 months! Two whole months as husband and wife. Two whole months of feeling calm and content on a level I could never have imagined, pinching myself every single day to make sure this is real. I’m your wife! And you’re my husband! And we’re in this together, and forever. Our wedding, the entire weekend we spent celebrating with our friends and family, and every day since have been some of the happiest of my life. How did I get so lucky to get to spend forever with you?
I love you, my darling. For now and for always.
Dress // I got this dress from BHLDN, and then took it to get a whole heck of a lot of alternations. Most notably, we added a mini train, removed the ribbon belt, and added extra layers of lace.
Suit // Gib wore this navy slim fit suit from DNKY and looked rather handsome if I do say.
Shoes // I got my shoes from this incredible Etsy shop in Greece (!!!) that arrived just in the nick of time, and Gib got this Joseph Abboud pair. I got him this pair of socks to wear with them, in case he got cold feet. 😉
Venue // We had our ceremony at the Coker Arboretum in Chapel Hill, NC where Gib and I had our first date almost 7 years ago! It was stunning – the most perfect of Spring mornings, everything that could be blooming was blooming, and when our violinist finished playing the songs we got an encore performance from the Arboretum whistler.
Officiant // Rabbi Larry Bach did a beautiful job with the ceremony, and had a pretty steady hand when pouring the tequila shots after!
Photographer // Emily of Emily March Photography did a splendid job managing the directly overhead sun we had at noon, and handled her film camera with ease!
Violinist // Amaree Davis was incredible, and I wish I could have her play the soundtrack to my life. Here she is playing Somewhere Over The Rainbow (she’s second from the left!)
Florals // The team at Tre Bella Florist made my bouquet, flower crown, boutonnieres, corsages, and our chuppah super dreamy.
Cake // Randi at Sugar Euphoria made the most wonderfully vanilla vanilla cake and buttercream frosting that we served with some macerated berries and mint.
HMU // My mom, mother in law, sister in law and I all got our hair and make-up done by the wonderful Sam at LULA Hair + Makeup.
House // We rented this AMAZING airBNB for us and our immediate families to stay and celebrate together during the long weekend.
